Creative Artistry

STEP INTO THE WORLD OF CREATIVITY AND EXPLORE THE UNIQUE ILLUSTRATIONS CRAFTED BY CARL FITTON, A TALENTED ARTIST AND ILLUSTRATOR FROM CARLISLE, UK.

Hi, I’m Carl and I am a live wedding artist.

What I Do.

To put it simply, I will draw caricatures of you and your guests to remember your wonderful day. At the end of the da your guests will have a bespoke and personal favour that they will remember came from your wedding for years to come and you will have a studio portrait to remember your special day.

What happens?

I begin by mingling with your wedding guests and introducing myself before asking people if they would like their portrait drawn. I will then photograph those that do and once I have half a dozen or so I will head back to my table and begin to draw from the photographs.

The portraits that I produce take approximately 9 minutes per person so between 18 and twenty minutes per couple  – though depending on the fantastic attire of your wedding guests some may take slightly longer and some slightly less!

After a short while I will begin to pop finished illustrations up for your guests to view. I tend to find at this point that your guests will come to me to get their photos taken rather than me going to them. I am more than happy to chat to guests about my art practice and what I am doing and I find a lot of people enjoy discussing this too.

The finished drawings come ready mounted and in cellophane bags to protect them until they get framed.

*I also offer a bespoke place card illustration package – see below for more details.

Live Wedding Illustrations Packages

It takes me approximately 8 minutes to complete an individual portrait, so I will complete between 35 - 40 portrait drawings (18 - 20 couples) in 5 hours, 50 - 54 (25-27 couples) in 7 hours and 60 - 64 (30 - 32 couples) in 8 hours. Additional portraits will be completed in my studio and forwarded to the happy couple to distribute. All packages allow for one portrait for each guest. Additional portraits can be arranged on the day for a fee payable on the day (charged to the individuals ) and will be completed in the studio and forwarded with the Portrait of the happy couple.

Should a guest want the portrait to come directly to them this is fine but P&P will be added to the fee.

About Carl

A little more about me. I have been an artist now for over 20 years and I use a wide range of media and cover various different subjects, as well as weddings and other events I have illustrated books, my artwork is available for purchase in several galleries throughout the Lake District and in northern Cumbria and I am also a Derwent ambassador. I used to do a lot of pet portraits but I don’t tend to do many any more as I simply don’t have the time.

I have written a children’s book with my youngest son, and we have both illustrated it and as I write this, I am approaching agents to hopefully take us on!

And now the why.

I have had a variety of jobs over the years, and with each job there is a distinct feel whether it is office based or surveying for estate agents. I have not worked any where that has the same atmosphere as a wedding.
